Trigger Autoresponder AFTER-PROFILE-UPDATE event via API?

Hey
I tried to use an Autoresponder with an AFTER-PROFILE-UPDATE event. When a subscriber is updating his profile over the website, the trigger is working fine.
But when I tried to update a subscriber via the API the event was not fired. Is there maybe a way to make this work?

@Schmedu - we decided this is the right behavior, this should not work via API, only when the subscriber itself does the action.
If you do it via API, then you have enough control to trigger the autoresponder yourself if needed be.

You can trigger AR's via API if you change a custom field to a certain value and have autoresponders waiting on that custom field value via segmentation.

Ah ok, you mean I should use the list with a segment and use the AFTER-SUBSCRIBE event. Sorry, this was not obvious to me. Now it makes sense and it works, too. Thanks for the help @twisted1919
