I do it by creating segments where email starts with an 'a' and then a segment of emails starting with a 'b' etc. This usually works out for me at around 10% of the list. I then run a mail to each segment, check results and run a mail to the rest of the list (segment whose emails DONT start with a or b) the winning subject line.
