soft bounces for gmail.com with message "invalid domain"

For the past week or two, I've been seeing a LOT of soft bounces for gmail.com (the domain is spelled correctly) with the error message "smtp; 550 5.4.4 Invalid domain"

Why is this happening, and will these email addresses be mailed to again when the next autoresponder message goes out?

I assumed you have the full source of the email message...
What service are you using to send this email? Because the message comes from the SMTP server, so if the SMTP server tries to resolve the domain cannot because of a DNS issue, you end up with this bounce message.

I'm using Amazon SES connected to mailwizz via API.
Then there's no reason for such bounces. Countact Amazon support, there's something going on on their servers.
Note that for amazon ses we get the bounces directly from Amazon, and we record them in MailWizz as they sent them.
