Force users to select a segment

I have a list that has five segments, and each segment also has weekdays listed.

Users can subscribe to the general list but select nothing. They can update their account to do the same.
This might let them think they are unsubscribed, but if I send to the list and don't select a segment, they will get an email.

Two requests:

• Is it possible to force a user to select a segment?
• Is there an easy way for me to see what users are subscribed but have not selected a segment?

You should be able to edit those lists and make the fields required.

Maybe you know how.
Anyhow, I'm not sure it's that easy. I have multiple categories and weekdays listed under each. I only want them to be forced to select one or more from any of the lists.

• Is there an easy way for me to see what users are subscribed but have not selected a segment?
