Attempted to set up a domain, received this notice:

While generating the private key, exec failed with: Unknown error, most probably cannot exec the openssl command!

This happens if the user under which the apache web server is running (or nginx) does not have enough privileges to call the openssl command.
So i'd say to ask your host about this.
