Date comparison not working on segments

I have a date custom field. I'm trying to use it for a date range comparison on segments. For some reason I cannot make it work.
Anyone know how to use Date custom fields on segments?

What form do you use for the date custom field? How about the comparison date, how does that look like ?

The form is the Create New Segments on a list (DashboardLists --> Leads_CGN --> List segments --> Create New)

The date is on a standard format -- example "9/8/2017" (translates to september 9, 2017)

You need your your date to be in the YYYY-MM-DD format in the custom field and when you do the comparison, you have to do it in the same format. If you do this, it will work without issues. The tooltips on those fields instruct you about this
