Clone for Development

What are the suggestions / recommendations / processes to clone our production system so we can have a test system on which we can do development? Also, how does this affect our license? The clone is on the same server with the same IP so once we do the clone, will the clone work so we can do our testing? We do NOT want to clone the database.

This does not affect your license. The rest is just development stuff which isn't really a mailwizz thing. You can have a staging.domain.com where you do all your tests and when everything is fine, move the changes to live site.
