Can some1 Explain more about auto responder and its uses..

i want want to know that how can i use auto responder and what is its benefits i mean in which scenario it is used..

Autoresponders are just sequences of emails sent at various time differences.
You can start such sequence when a subscriber joins your list, then after 3 days you can send him a new email with some offers, then after 10 days you can send another email with some discounts, and so on.
