Images not displaying in emails

Hello,
I am facing an issue for which I could not found a fix while online on google or here while trying to troubleshoot it. The image I upload inside the my email template does not display in the mail once sent. When I tested this a week ago everything worked fine but now it doesn't and I have not touched anything in the settings. Please how can I fix this?

The issue was an invalid ssl certificate which prevented external sites to load the resources from the target site.
