Bounce Handling Works But Emails Not Blacklisted Automatically Even after removing getting bounced

Hi Team,

I'm facing an issue in MailWizz where the bounce server is working and campaigns are sending fine, but bounced emails are not being blacklisted automatically.

My Setup:​

  • ✅ Bounce server: Configured correctly (IMAP, bounces are received)
  • ✅ Cron jobs: Working fine (campaigns send, bounce logs visible)
  • ✅ Blacklist settings:
    • "Automatically blacklist bounced email addresses" → Not found the option
    • "Blacklist on hard bounce" → Not found the option
    • Group settings also allow blacklisting
Still, MailWizz is sending emails again to the same bounced addresses, which hurts my delivery reputation. I also tried removing bounced addresses from lists manually, but they get added again later.

Can you please guide me if there’s a version-related bug or any specific config I might be missing?

  • "Automatically blacklist bounced email addresses" → Not found the option
  • "Blacklist on hard bounce" → Not found the option
You can find this: Backend > Cron > Settings for processing Delivery and Bounce logs > Max. fatal errors > 1 this mean MailWizz will try to send one time to hard bounces after this will marked as blacklisted.

I’ve confirmed Max. fatal errors = 1 and cron + bounce handling are working.

But the issue is: after bounces are received, the emails are not blacklisted, so in the next campaign to the same list, the same bounces happen again.
Even after manually removing them, they come back and bounce again.

Most of these are internal hard bounces.
Could this be due to missing headers in bounce messages? What should I check next?

Hello,

Please check in Backend > Misc > Campaigns bounce logs if the bounce type is marked as "hard", MailWizz only blacklists hard bounces by default.
